Picking the best modern day muscle cars isn’t an easy task as all American manufacturers represent quite well. But if you just bought a set of wheel adapters for your Camaro, you might want to know how it holds up with the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang.
Power remains one of the top priorities when choosing a modern muscle car. Just like back in the day, a Chevy with 440 horsepower trumped a Ford with only 400 horsepower. The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat provides the most power by spitting out an astounding 707 HP. Well, we wouldn't expect anything less from a Hemi V-8. If you happen to own a 2014 Mustang Shelby, you are a close second with 662 HP. The Chevy Camaro rates third with 580 HP in its ZL1.
If you can't beat them with power, awe them with style. The best of the best modern muscle cars also need flare to go with the punch they can pack. The 2015 Ford Mustang is striking in looks, but many feel they went a bit too far with an Audi-like flair that really doesn’t translate into a muscle car.
The 2015 Challenger went all in with the throwback design and even included the “shaker hood” on some models. But Dodge forgot something that Ford and Chevy did not, they don't offer a convertible model.
The Chevy Camaro, however, holds massive road presence that combines cutting-edge designs and a classic look. The fact that there is a convertible model makes them the winner.
